Last week saw the official launch of the realigned November (N1) freeway through Ventersburg in the Free State province. Previously a two-lane single carriageway, it has been upgraded to a fourlane divided carriageway, an investment of around R295 million, according to a Department of Transport spokesman. The N1 freeway is the main road transport corridor between Cape Town and Gauteng via Bloemfontein.
