THE NEXT Transport Forum Special Interest Group meeting on August 7 will examine what South Africa is doing from a public transport perspective to address the fuel crisis. ‘Public Transport – the mess we’re in’ is the topic to be covered by Dr Vaughan Mostert, senior lecturer at the University of Johannesburg. The world economy is being battered by fuel price increases. South Africa is even more vulnerable than most countries because it is one of the most wasteful users of energy. Are we doing enough to deal with the problem? Dr Mostert will share some thoughts with the group. The event will be held at the Cedar Park Hotel and Conference Centre in Woodmead, Sandton.
