Premier sets its sights on Africa and China

IN KEEPING with its determination to expand internationally, South African owned Premier Freight is to use the experience and client base of its shareholders to penetrate the markets of Africa and the Far East – especially China.
Premier’s director of sales and marketing, Richard Adamson, said the company – which is 60% owned by Sasfin and 40% by local management - provides what he believes to be the only complete logistics service in South Africa, with the capacity to raise finance anywhere in the world through Sasfin. Hecny Transportation – Premier Freight’s forwarding partner - provides logistics reach into 160 offices worldwide.
In its own right Premier Freight is South Africa’s largest independent freight forwarder, he added.
“Our particular suite of services embraces the entire logistics chain, which is something that we believe cannot be matched by any other company as we have a bona fide local bank that is a major shareholder in our business,” he explained.
The existing network enables them not only to finance, but also to manage the entire logistics chain, he said.
