THE FLAGS of South Africa and Portnet flew
high over the Canadian port of Montreal recently during the
week-long 22nd International Association of Ports & Harbours (IAPH)
conference.
FTW correspondent Terry Hutson was there and filed this report.
Portnet flags fly high in Montreal
Durban to host 2003 conference
The reason for the Port of Durban’s high profile at this year’s conference, held in the river port of Montreal 1600km up the St Lawrance River, is that Durban is to be host port and city to the next conference, which is scheduled for May 2003.
It is anticipated that between 1200 and 1500 delegates representing 230 port authorities as well as 100 associated members from 85 countries will attend - clearly the biggest port event on the calendar.
