While protests in KwaZulu-Natal continue, Transnet National Ports Authority has announced that it will do its best to ensure minimal impact on operations at the Port of Durban.
As of yesterday (July 13), the port had secured the following limited resources to ensure business continuity:
Marine resource deployment
- 2 marine pilots
- 2 fully manned tugs
- 1 pilot boat
- 2 berthing gangs
It says it will strive to maximise services, taking into consideration the current situation in the province.
Transnet has confirmed that the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) has been deployed to certain parts of the port.
