Logistics company Tigers is set to open a new office at Frankfurt Airport, Germany to act as a gateway between Europe and Africa by creating airfreight consolidation products.
The focus will be on the trade lane between Germany and South Africa. “The new Frankfurt office will boost our global offering, especially in the key verticals and markets, and help strengthen commerce between the two regions,” said managing director of Tigers South Africa, Paul Lawrence.
Andreas Niklasch, managing director: Germany & Switzerland, added that by consolidating multiple shipments into a single one the company created competitive solutions for its customers. He said Africa was a key region for the company, using South Africa as the base from which to expand into the continent.
“The opening of our new office at Frankfurt Airport aligns with our global strategy to expand our freight activities and gain new volumes for our global freight network,” said Niklasch.
Lawrence said Tigers was gearing up for the global launch of its online marketplace, the Tigers eShop, which will optimise its e-commerce offering to B2B and B2C customers worldwide. The Group’s Cologne e-commerce fulfilment centre, as well as its eTigers facility in Rotterdam, have both doubled in space in less than a year due to increasing demand.
Tigers Germany works across a range of industries including industrial goods, aerospace, automotive, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, high-tech, perishables, cosmetics, and fashion among others.
