WITH A long history as a neutral service provider for the clearing and forwarding industry – offering services from draw clerks at OR Tambo International Airport to branded fleet supply and management to blue chip agents nationally – Paradigm Logistics has once again expanded its offering, according to managing member, Anthony Haynes. “The need arose within our customer base to include warehousing solutions for agents with import/ export customers whose own supply chain solutions were not adequate,” he said. “This due to a lack of synergies or to red tape that hindered them from offering an effective service to their market.” Customers, Paradigm found, were seeking solutions that ranged from short-term to longterm warehousing – and with the options of pickand- pack, specialised storage for dangerous goods and distribution. “We found it was necessary for us to be able to provide areas ranging from 150-to-1 500m2 of space per customer, along with any infrastructure needed,” Haynes added. Offering a physical base for this function, Paradigm Logistics has now moved into its own warehousing complex in the newly-developed N12 industrial park at Bartlett in Boksburg. “We can now cater for all the individual needs presented to us,” Haynes told FTW. “At the same time, we are small enough to be flexible, yet experienced enough to manage our agents’ business as if it was our own.” In its warehousing function, the company is targeting the same 99.9% operating efficiency indicated by its current service level agreements, according to Haynes. “To avoid competing with agents in any way,” he said, “we have to embrace their needs as our own – recognising that integrity and reliability must be our core values." As the cornerstone of its logistics service, Paradigm has developed lasting relationships through its “partner philosophy”, according to Haynes.
