Nigerian airline, Arik Air, has extended two of its existing routes as part of its expansion programme for regional West African services. Effective March 10, the airline has added Cotonou to its daily route network by operating the Lagos-Dakar flight via Cotonou, the economic capital of Benin Republic. On the same day, the airline has extended its daily Abuja-Accra service to Dakar. According to Arik Air spokesman, Adebanji Ola, the two routes will be upgraded to the larger Boeing 737-700 aircraft, providing freight forwarders with an additional two tons of belly cargo space to facilitate import and export of commercial goods.
