NIGERIA HAS imposed new wood packaging measures for imports which became effective yesterday (September 30).
All pallets, dunnage and packing blocks entering the country must in future be heat treated or fumigated and the type of treatment stated on the phytosanitary certificate.
Non-compliance may result in clearance delays. Should the authorities decide to destroy or treat the packaging or return to the country of origin, this will be for the importer’s account.
