NIGERIA WILL impose a freight tax surcharge on all imports and exports from November 1. The surcharge on import cargo will be US$100 per TEU and $200 per FEU (dry/reefer inclusive) with the breakbulk/ CFS set at $5 per w/m, according to internet news service Schednet. The levy for export cargo will be $50 per TEU and $100 per FEU (dry/ reefer inclusive) with breakbulk/ CFS at $2.50 per w/m. The charge will apply on all bills of lading dated on or after November 1 for cargo carried by China Shipping, CMA-CGM, Delmas, Gold Star, Maersk Sealand, MOL, PIL and P&O Nedlloyd.
