Newly upgraded Beitbridge truck stop launched

Engen has launched the newly upgraded Gateway Truck Stop at Beitbridge in response to customer requests for an on-road refueling site serving long-haul vehicles crossing the border into the rest of Africa.

“Like all Engen Truck Stops, this new site provides safe and secure facilities for long-haul drivers,” said Mike Stead, Engen commercial fuels manager.

“Drivers can have a bite, refuel and use the rest areas, which offer ablution facilities, showers, and security fencing with controlled access. A wellness clinic operating daily from 8am to 4pm is also available as well as eFuel Wireless facilities.”

Plans are under way to expand the current site from a four-bay to a 10-bay refueling forecourt, allowing for more traffic while offering easier access.

Engen plans to keep growing its network where there is sufficient demand, said Stead, noting that the number of Engen Truck Stops now stands at 14.
