A NEW fully-containerised service linking India, the Indian Ocean Islands (IOI) and SA is about to launched by the Africa shipping specialists Delmas – part of the CMA CGM group. The Delmas India-SA service (Dinsas) will call at Durban every 16-days. The two 550-TEU container vessels (Delmas Komati and Delmas Kaveri) will sail Nhava Sheva (Mumbai), India-Port Louis, Mauritius-Durban on the southbound route, and Durban-Nacala, Mozambique-Port Victoria, Seychelles-Nhava Sheva on the northbound. Calls will also be made at Cochin in south-west India on the northbound route during the cashew nut season Connected “With this new Dinsas service,” said Stéphane Courquin, MD of Delmas Shipping SA (Midas and Dinsas lines) and CMA CGM owner’s representative in SA, “Delmas and CMA CGM will be complementing their already widespread network of services operated in the Indian Ocean area. “It is connected to all the major markets in the Indian sub-continent, the Gulf, the IOI, SA, Mozambique and East and West Africa - and confirms our dedication to the trade.” The current schedule will see the Delmas Komati departing from Nhava Sheva on June 26, followed by the Delmas Kaveri sailing from the same port on July 12. Courquin estimated the transit time to Durban, via Mauritius, as 13-days. CMA CGM Shipping Agencies is the appointed agent for Delmas Lines in SA.
