Cutting costs while
maintaining service levels
will be the big challenge
in 2015 – and more so for
companies entering the
market.
But, says Nelly
Thabethe, shareholder
and managing director of
Nakati Holdings, a newly
established black womanowned
(BWO) logistics
business, this is not
an insurmountable
challenge.
“We launched
the company to
enter the project
and abnormal
logistics market
with a fresh, handson
approach, with a
standard of service aimed
at exceeding whatever the
market has experienced to
date,” Thabethe told FTW.
“Keeping control of costs
in that environment will be
challenging
but we believe
we can do it.
Communication,
transparency and honesty
are what form the basis
of our business strategy
moving forward.”
Thabethe launched the
company at the end of 2014
with fellow
shareholders
Carl Webb
and John
du Bourg
of Project
Logistics
Management
(PLM), both
of whom have
extensive
experience in
the project
cargo and
abnormal
load sectors.
“We believe
there is
opportunity
in the market for a
specialist BWO company
such as ours,” says
Thabethe. “Our goal is not
to be everything to everyone
but to offer a very specialist
logistics solution to an elite
market in the abnormal and
project fields.”
