CHC Container Depot

in Johannesburg has

relocated to new premises

in Aeroport which opened

for business on Monday

(August 24).

The new facility will

operate as a dedicated

LCL groupage warehouse,

director Simon Chalker told

FTW.

CHC previously shared

premises with its group

companies in the chemicals

sector. It will now operate

from independent premises

in Aeroport, which Chalker

believes are ideally placed

to serve his customer base.

The facilities are very

similar and the company

will continue to offer

the same service range –

from groupage unpacks

and export packing to

warehousing and local

distribution.

According to Chalker,

the company's depot

business has recorded

significant growth over the

past year, particularly in

Durban and Cape Town.

And while it offers the full

range of warehousing and

distribution services, it has

seen the most demand in

the LCL groupage sector.

“This is where we expect

to see growth in the year

ahead and we believe our

new facility will provide the

focus and infrastructure to

grow our customer base.”
