Sasol’s Pelser takes over ALAN PEAT ONE OF the well known names in the SA logistics industry has just been appointed executive director of the SA Shippers Council (Sasc). “LM” Pelser, currently an executive director and previously group logistics manager at Sasol, has taken over the council hot seat from the equally well known freight industry personality, Nolene Lossau. Pelser was born in 1946, and did his schooling at Rustenburg High School, followed by a B Com at the University of Potchefstroom and an honours in marketing through Unisa. After some 18 years with Iscor, where he ended up as one of the senior sales staff for the national iron and steel giant, Pelser joined Sasol and moved through various companies in the chemical and petroleum group to his present post. For the next four months it’s going to be a night-and-day job, he told FTW, as he continues with Sasol and conducts Sasc business at the same time. “But by the end of May I’ll be able to contribute much more of my energies to the council.”
