ALAN PEAT THE SECOND iron ore tippler at the Cape bulk port of Saldanha Bay is due to be opened next week (February 2) by the head of Transnet, Maria Ramos. Although yet to be confirmed, this opening ceremony is also expected to be attended by SA Port Operations CEO, Tau Morwe, his chief operating officer, Graham Braby, Transnet executive, Louis van Niekerk and executives of both the mines involved in the project – Kamba and Ore & Metals’ Assmeng. This is another milestone in Sapo’s on-going development investment at the port – estimated at an outlay of more than R1-billion.
