Dangerous goods database offers easy-reference guide

JOY ORLEK THIS MONTH sees the launch by dangerous goods specialist EC Logistics of a multi-searchable database providing an A-Z reference of information on dangerous goods classification, transport and handling in South Africa. It’s a user-friendly guide, says EC Logistics MD Eddie Crane, listing the products either in alphabetical order, according to UN Number or according to Hazard Class from 1-9. Important information applicable for transport in South Africa appears on the database, as does a hazard class compatibility table to determine which hazard classes can be transported together. The package contains more than 450 pages of information and is available on CD in Adobe PDF format. As a special introductory offer, the first 100 customers will pay R2999 excluding VAT for the full database which is available from EC Logistics’ Johannesburg and Durban offices.
