Nacora pushes partnership

RenŽ Woodhouse É ‘The proactive approach is clearly in the best interests of the insurer and the insured.’ THE PAST year has reflected positively for Nacora Insurance Brokers, the in-house insurance broking arm of Kuehne & Nagel, which has added a number of new accounts to its client list. Nacora’s RenŽ Woodhouse believes that service and good client relationships are the active ingredients that are pulling in not only Kuehne & Nagel customers, but the wider shipping base. Like her colleagues in the industry, she is a strong believer in the proactive approach. Her advice to clients is: “Act at all times as if uninsured. “A sound risk management programme not only reduces the risk, but also benefits the client in terms of reduced premiums,” says Woodhouse. “The proactive approach is clearly in the best interests of the insured and the insurer. Insurance should be viewed as a partnership between insured and insurer.” Nacora operates autonomously, offering its services not only to Kuehne & Nagel customers, but also to the wider freight industry. The majority of its business comes from referrals; not only from Kuehne & Nagel sales and operations staff, but also from existing clients, many of whom are not necessarily Kuehne & Nagel customers. Nacora deals with the full spectrum of cargo insurance, each policy tailored to individual needs. As ‘one-stop shopping’ becomes the order of the day in the new supply chain management environment, Nacora is playing an increasingly important role, she added.
