JOY ORLEK A DUBAI company has set up a multimodal transport operation which combines sea and air for cargo moving from the Far East to Africa via Dubai. Marketed as Sea-Air Model (SAM), shipments travel by sea from the Far East to Dubai where they transfer to Dubai International Airport for onward airfreight transport to a number of African destinations. It’s the brainchild of Swift Freight International CEO and chairman Issa Baluch who believes it overcomes backlogs at Far Eastern airports while achieving on-time deliveries cost-effectively.
