The Mozambican government is taking action to address poor road infrastructure along key trade routes to Malawi. This was announced at the recent Malawi/ Mozambique Bilateral Road Transport meeting where Malawi operators objected to having to pay high road user charges when some roads were in such poor condition. Mozambique’s national director of transport and logistics, Pedro Murreriua, announced that there were plans to improve certain sections of road by adding lanes and parking terminals for trucks.
