Recent investments in airports and supporting infrastructure mean that there are more opportunities to use airfreight, according to Andreas Kusza, of Manica Freight Services. “We are looking into providing more airfreight services into the country to service not only the oil and gas industry, but other clients as well. “At present some airports are underutilised,” he told FTW. Nacala is a new airport but without international connections as yet. Pemba is within reach of the developments in the North. Manica considers both airports to be strategic hubs from which to supply the oil and gas developments, he says.
