MOL holds all the Aces (from page 1)

From page 1 The line has been nominated as one of the major car carriers for the Toyota Hilux IMV range for export to Europe, East and West Africa, and has two sailings each month into these destinations. The second sailing of an MOL vessel took place a fortnight later with the arrival of the much larger Eminent Ace, which also happened to be the ship’s maiden voyage to South Africa. On the occasion of the first shipment Rudolf Luttmann, MOL’s general manager for Europe and Africa, visited the country to be present at the Durban function. “We see South Africa as a very important strategic country for MOL’s car carrier business and based on the new business of Toyota in this country, we are very pleased to be part of such significant development in South Africa,” he said. Mosel Ace, which was built in 2000 with a capacity for 4100 units, loaded almost 300 vehicles for European destinations in Zeebrugge and Vigo. This week it was the turn of the much larger 6400 unit Eminent Ace. It was delivered to MOL in May this year and is the fifth of 12 identical pure car and truck carriers for MOL, encompassing revolutionary environmentally-friendly and safety features.
