Diversified shipping company Metcon has expanded its national network with the opening of a Durban office this month. It’s just over seven years since its launch in Johannesburg as a oneemployee operation, but significant growth has motivated the expansion, says Johannesburg-based general manager Helena McCabe. Metcon’s staff complement currently comprises 14 countrywide. Its diverse portfolio encompasses liner agency, airfreight, clearing and forwarding, groupage, warehousing, NVOCC and local and over-border transport for imports and exports. Metcon is part of the MUR Group of companies headquartered in Dubai.
