HOLDING THE proof that training pays off is Grindrod m.d. John Williamson (left) who received a refund of R71 840 from the Maritime Education and Training Board: Forwarding & Clearing.
This was equal to the fees paid in 1997 for employees who successfully completed METB: F&C accredited courses.
The Grindrod employees attended basic English literacy courses run by People's Education Group (PEG).
Also pictured are Transport and General Workers' Union representative Andries Skosana, METB: F&C's Ingrid du Buisson and Kathy Megaw, national co-ordinator of PEG.
