RENNIES SHIPS Agency has restructured its operation to establish two separate divisions, liner and non-Liner, which will operate independently.
The company has accepted that it is currently operating in two distinctly differing businesses. These have now been split into separate entities, including accounting, systems, marketing and premises, says c.e. Mike Atter.
Bennie Bester has been appointed g.m. of the liner division. He will be responsible for re-engineering current processes and systems to provide the most effective delivery of service to principals and profitability to the company. Des Murray will continue in his role as commercial executive in the division.
Laurie Smith has been appointed g.m. non-liner division, and will relocate from Richards Bay to Durban to take up the post. Tony Kee will continue to be responsible for the commercial development of the bulk/ non-liner activities.
The IS/IT function will be housed in the liner division and managed by Ian Klynsmith. With the liner and non-liner divisions each requiring differing applications, each will have its own IS/IT personnel.
Doug Anderson continues as finance executive for Rennies Ships Agency, while James Reddy has been appointed business risk/ audit manager. Rosemarie Gedye is human resources manager.
