WHEN IT comes to medals, South Africa is a top contender on and off the racing track. Not only did local hero Hendrik Ramaala snatch third place in Sunday’s London marathon, but the 40 000 medals for the event were produced in South Africa by 1000 KM Promotions. Clearly delighted with his company's 'marathon' performance is Steffan Springford of Davies Turner’s Dartford ocean imports team, which was responsible for shipping the medals from South Africa.
