Major delays expected at Italy’s airports during strike next weekend

A strike by air traffic controllers and Alitalia staff is set to cause major delays at Italian airports on Sunday May 28. 

Several international flights to the country have been cancelled while others are set to be delayed. 

A spokesperson for Alitalia said air traffic controllers were set to strike from 13H00-17H00 while Alitalia staff were set to strike from 10H00-18H00. 

Additional staff will also be deployed at Rome Fiumicino International and Milan Linate International Airports to assist travellers.
