Another of the larger size
of containerships to call
at Durban was berthed
alongside the Durban
container terminal (DCT)
Pier 2 last week.
She was Maersk Line’s
Sendawang, a 6 478-TEU
capacity vessel, putting the
DCT under pressure by
discharging 2 853 boxes
and loading 3 281.
The Sendawang was
built in 2007, with a length
of 319 metres and a breadth
of 40m. The 85 250 tonne
deadweight (dwt) vessel is
registered in Singapore.
