Some of South Africa’s top logistics companies are readying themselves for what is often dubbed the “Oscars” of the business world – this year’s National Business Awards. The winners – top performers in business at individual, organisational and governmental level – will be announced at a gala ceremony on November 15 at Emperors Palace in Johannesburg. Seven companies will go head to head in the logistics category and include Bidvest Panalpina Logistics, DHL Express, Imperial Logistics, JF Hillebrand South Africa, Mercury Freight, Supplier Park Development Company and Wemer Logistics. Nominations in other categories include Bidvest Panalpina Logistics in the Investing in People award, DHL Express in the Customer Focus and the Corporate Citizenship Awards and JF Hillebrand in both the Diversity in the Workplace and Multinational awards. Imperial Logistics has been nominated for an ESG Award, while Mercury Freight’s Margrit Wolff and Marliese Martin of JF Hillebrand are finalists in the Top Performing Businesswoman of the Year category.
