BARLOW MANILAL has been elected national president of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport: South Africa (CILTSA). Department manager: supply chain development at the Automotive Industry Development Centre (AIDC), he joined the AIDC in 2001 after working for DaimlerChrysler SA and Toyota for some years in supply chain and project management positions. He is also chairman of the Technical Action Group for Logistics (TAG), a national body focusing on development programmes for the automotive supply chain. One of his key achievements is managing the national roll-out of “MISCCIP”, a communications platform integrating the entire South African automotive supply chain. CILTSA is a professional body for individuals working in the logistics and transport industries.
