Local transport e-system facilitates Sars compliance

Compu-Clearing has developed a stand-alone manifest acquittal system, cRoad, to enable domestic transporters to comply with the new South African Revenue Service (Sars) requirements. “The company, along with its partner Cargowise, offers a complete platform with modules dedicated to local transport,” says marketing representative Jessica Schneiderman. System users are now able to import jobs from the forwarding and customs module into ediLocal Transport Manager, she explained. “Our trucking software allows operators to allocate trailers and drivers to every leg of the journey that a container needs to travel. This can also be interfaced with in-cab electronic communications which provide for on-theroad job transmission and allow for real-time tracking of drivers.” She adds that ediLocalTransportManager software ensures optimisation of delivery schedules and vehicle fleets. “The system’s capability to charge items to clients and allocate direct costs against a transport job for billing purposes will increase efficiencies and decrease manual intervention by enabling users to enter invoice lines at any time after a job is registered,” Schneiderman said. Accounting functions are then performed automatically from the integrated quote and rate system, eliminating the need for manual posting in another accounts module.
