Line alliance suspends two services for winter period

As the G6 Alliance announced its Asia-North America winter programme it notified its customer base of the temporary suspension of two services due to traditional seasonal changes in market demand.

It added that further service adjustments were possible.

The temporary service suspensions are:

On its Asia–North America East Coast service it will combine its NYE and SCE services into a single service with the port rotation: Xiamen–Kaohsiung–Hong Kong–Yantian–Shanghai (Yangshan)–Pusan–Panama Canal–Manzanillo–Kingston–Savannah–Charleston–New York–Norfolk–Jacksonville–Kingston–Manzanillo–Panama Canal–Balboa–Pusan–Xiamen.

The first sailing of the combined service will start with the Xiamen sailing on October 29.

On the Asia–North America West Coast service, the alliance will temporarily suspend the Central China 2 (CC2) service between Asia and the NAWC during the winter period starting from Week 44 (October 25-31).

It will be replaced with the slightly revised Central China 4 service. The Pusan eastbound call will be added to CC4 during the CC2 suspension, resulting in the rotation:

Shanghai (WaiGaoQiao)–Ningbo–Pusan–Los Angeles–Oakland–Shanghai (WaiGaoQiao).

The G6 Alliance members are: APL, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai Merchant Marine, Mitsui OSK Lines, Nippon Yusen Kaisha and Orient Overseas Container Line.
