Transnet Freight Rail (TFR) has called on the road freight industry to work with them to move appropriate cargo back to rail, stressing it is not a competition but rather a partnership. Molatwane Likhethe, executive manager in the office of the TFR chief executive, said truckers and TFR had more in common than not. “And the biggest commonality between us is customers,” he said. “You can’t just have a road network or just a rail network to move freight effectively in this country. You need both modes and we believe that if we work together we can achieve much more.”
