KZN logistics infrastructure gets R200bn fillip

The KwaZulu Natal (KZN) government is set to spend R200 billion in overall infrastructure development over the next seven years – a large chunk of which is earmarked for logistics infrastructure, including roads, airfreight and the maritime industry. This was announced last Sunday by KZN acting premier, Sihle Zikalala, at the two-day Brics Council meeting in Durban. He said the infrastructure development would make doing business in the province “easy and cost effective”. “We are encouraging partnerships between the public and the private sectors to maximise investments and grow the economy together using the infrastructure as a catalyst,” said Zikalala.
