Korean market holds promise

South Africa seems to be losing out to the US in the Korean citrus export stakes. According to Citrus Growers’ Association CEO Justin Chadwick, South Korea is the main destination for US citrus, while South African citrus has never really taken off in that country. “It could be due to the higher duties faced by South African produce, or the competition posed by locally grown fruit,” he suggests. “But the growth in US exports indicates an appetite for imported citrus that should not be ignored.”
