KENYA AIRWAYS has increased its cargo capacity out of Johannesburg International Airport by 115% since the launch of its daily service on June 1.
In the past Kenya Airways only operated three frequencies per week from Nairobi to Johannesburg, says Blake Sclanders, recently appointed customer services manager for southern Africa.
We increased to six last month and put on the additional flight this month to make it a daily service. We are now able to carry 56 000kg each week, which equates to 224 000km per month.
The airline operates a fleet of Airbus 310, Boeing 737 and 767 aircraft.
