Kenya Airways adds two flights

KENYA AIRWAYS will introduce two more flights on the Johannesburg-Nairobi route from July 16 offering additional cargo capacity to an already busy schedule, says KenCargo regional sales manager Maarten Klijnstra. The flights, planned for Tuesday and Friday each week, leave Nairobi at 19h25 (local time) arriving in Johannesburg at 22h25. They depart from Johannesburg at 23h55, reaching Nairobi at 05h00 (local time). "It means late cargo can be accepted on these two days for overnight delivery to Nairobi, connecting with ongoing flights into other African destinations," says Klijnstra. The current daily flights depart Johannesburg at 11h20. This schedule remains unchanged. The additional flights will be mixed between B767-300ER and B737-300/700 aircraft. "These two additional flights are well timed for linking with ongoing services from Nairobi, not only into Africa but also to European, Middle East and Asian destinations," says Klijnstra. "The growth in trade between South Africa and the West African nations of Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon and Ivory Coast as well as East African countries like Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Ethiopia has become very important to us, and the additional space now available will be an asset to our service from Johannesburg."
