Keeping it cool – and flexible – for perishable shippers

Frequency and flexibility are key factors in ensuring that cargo reaches its destination ahead of global competition – and this is particularly crucial in the air transport of perishables, says Keith Pienaar, cargo manager at Emirates SkyCargo in Cape Town. “As a number of sea food varieties come into season, with its twicedaily flight schedule out of Cape Town, we believe Emirates SkyCargo offers fresh produce exporters the flexibility and frequency they need. “Using protective measures such as temperature-controlled air cargo containers, cool dollies during transit and temperature-controlled warehouses, the quality of the product we transport is preserved from pick-up to delivery.”
