KDL 'punches above its weight'

A shared “passion for the industry” is helping the team at KLD Ships’ Agency to “punch above our weight,” says founder and coowner Katja Glöditzsch. Opened in 2011, the agency has handled a number of complex projects off Walvis Bay. “We have serviced everything that floats from rigs to pipe laying vessels and many more. For one client we moved 200 crew members off a vessel at anchorage in Walvis Bay, and replaced them with another 200,”she says. In 2012 KLD also handled a 7 600-vehicle car carrier operated by one of the biggest car carriers to call on Walvis Bay. The company is co-owned by managing member Glöditzsch and Carlos Morgadinho. “As an independent agency we are able to select the best service providers to uphold our service levels to our clients,” she said.
