As competition continues to
increase across markets and
industries throughout the
world, the ability to access
the latest technology is often
the differentiating factor.
According to Gert
Schoonbee, managing
director of T-Systems
SA, most companies are
constantly on the lookout
for ways of boosting
efficiency and reducing
costs.
“Information technology
has a vital role to play in
that regard. Just as much
as infrastructure plays a
massive role in bringing
economic success to the
country, technology plays a
role in ensuring a company
is successful,” he said. “One
of our aims is to bring the
latest technology to local
shores and specifically
the transport and logistics
sector.”
He said T-Systems, the
largest ICT outsourcing
service provider in the
country with one of the
largest systems integration
practices, has access to
the developed world’s
technology, being a
subsidiary of the global
player, Deutsche Telekom.
“The pace of
technological progress
is not slowing down and
companies need to ensure
they have a service provider
that can help them exploit
the power of innovative IT
to the full.”
He said it was all about
being innovative in a fastpaced
environment, finding
tailor-made solutions for
clients while at the same
time simplifying and
modernising processes,
systems and organisations.
