Iran and South Africa
are set to grow bilateral
trade by $2 billion by
2020 – and the Islamic
Republic of Iran opened
a business unit in Cape
Town last month to push
this agenda.

Qomi, the Iranian
ambassador to South
Africa, said that the
value of Iran’s exports to
South Africa had risen by
US$10.4 million in the
first six months of the
current Iranian calendar
year (March 20-Septemebr
21), a 93% increase yearon-
year.
This included
petrochemical products,
petroleum, ceramic tiles,
palm, power transformers,
f looring and carpet,
pistachios, industrial oils,
powder and extract of
liquorice.
