When this issue went to press on Monday morning (September 2), the strike by South African Airways (SAA) Technical staff had entered its second week as members of the South African Transport and Allied Workers' Union (Satawu) reverted to their initial demand of a 12% increase after rejecting a 6.4% offer by SAA, according to reports by Sapa.
