Ufudu Zambia Limited has delivered a 420- sqm double storey building in record time, highlighting the benefits of prefabricated solutions, according to managing director Barron Charsley.
Charsley said the company had completed the project in Lilayi on the outskirts of Lusaka for City Investments Zambia in only 42 days.
“Our client required an office building to be constructed in the shortest period of time to be used as a real estate office for a new suburb they are currently developing,” he said. “We managed to deliver and install the custom-made prefabricated site office to their specifications in a very short space of time.”
Using the Ufudu Cabin product that comprises 29 individual units, the 420- sqm double storey building was constructed far more quickly than would ever have been the case using bricks and mortar.
“The unit has full glass walls on two aspects, as well as a light steeltrussed pitched roof, a fully integrated data network, 12mm laminated wooden flooring throughout the office areas, LED lighting throughout the building, air-conditioning, ablution facilities and board rooms – all providing a fully functional open plan office space,” said Charsley.
He said prefabricated solutions were gaining traction thanks to the ability to deliver quality, durable and adaptable units for corporate or other purposes in the shortest possible time.
