IT’S THAT time of year again – the annual results of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers examinations. Of the 47 candidates who sat the exam this year, 35 passed all or some of their subjects, with Ana Maria Andrade of MUR in Johannesburg earning a distinction in liner trades. Distinctions this year were very few and far between, according to the ICS’s Fiona de Goede. “She is the only SA student to have achieved this and one of only a handful of international students who managed to obtain a distinction.” Seven students completed all subjects and are now up for election to the Institute. 17 wrote the Foundation Diploma, nine of whom passed. Successful candidates will be honoured at a special lunch on September 7.
