IT WAS an all-female
cast as the two top
achievers in the Institute
of Chartered Shipbrokers’
Professional Qualifying
Exams received their
prizes at a gala event
in Durban earlier this
month.
Silvia Mileva of Ocean
Africa Container Lines
achieved the highest
overall mark for which
she took home a floating
trophy and book prize
sponsored by Safmarine.
Livashnee Naidoo of
Garlicke and Bousfield
won the local SA prize
for the best candidate
in Dry Cargo Chartering
and was also awarded
the London prize for the
candidate who obtained
the highest mark in that
subject, internationally.
She will be travelling to
the UK later this month
to attend the London
prize-giving function and
collect her prize.
Guest speaker Sean
Minogue provided
his insights into
the evolution of
communication from the
early days to the current
use of emails and text
messaging.
