THE INTERNATIONAL Air
Transport Association recently
added its accreditation to a
South African dangerous goods
educational course aimed at the
air transport industry and offered
by a local import/export training
facility.
“We were Teta (Transport
Education Training Authority),
CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) and
Acsa (Airports Company of South
Africa) accredited, but now our
dangerous goods course has the
full endorsement of Iata as well,”
said Rita de Swardt, director of
Cargo Learning Academy.
“Candidates now take
with them an internationally
recognised set of skills and
knowledge on par with
international standards,” she
said. “Iata usually takes up to 16
weeks to make their decision,
but we were relieved when they
contacted us after two weeks
with the good news.”
