KEVIN MAYHEW TRUCK DRIVERS and assistants stuck in Musina with nothing to do while waiting for paperwork or repairs will soon have a diversion which includes Christian films and services. Musina-based Pastor Paul Richardson of the Musina Baptist Church is building on an idea that he has had for some time – a chapel and basic film and entertainment centre at the Beit Bridge Border Post near Musina on the border with Zimbabwe. “I have seen the loneliness of the drivers waiting overnight at the truck stops outside the town. Twice we have held open-air services and they have been well received. The owner of the ProtectIt Truck Stop also had the idea to provide some sort of entertainment and has given us some land with an existing floor slab upon which to establish a structure to make a more permanent base,” he explained. It will also be used for basic entertainment such as Christian films and preaching. To raise funds a special account has been opened – One Way Truck Drivers Chapel ABSA Musina 9124647199 – into which donors can contribute. It is hoped that the chapel and entertainment centre will be welcoming its transient flock later this year or early next year.
