RAY SMUTS THE HUGE damaged bulk carrier Cape Africa has come and gone but like several of her kind including the Ikan Tanda and Treasure, not to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean. The 150 000-ton, Taiwanese-owned, vessel carrying iron ore from Brazil to the Far East was holed about three months ago about 350km off Cape Town. FTW understands the empty vessel left the Mother City port on August 9, possibly for Dubai, for further drydocking.
