Haulage rates due to rise in March

THOSE USING road transport for moving their containers on the Durban to Gauteng route face an extra cost from March 1, according to a major forwarder.
Although details of revised rates are not yet available, cartage charges on the run are due to be increased next month.
Also watch out for the fuel price element in calculating costs.
“Some hauliers may well increase existing fuel levies - or introduce additional ones - ahead of this month's expected increases in fuel prices,” according to our source.
