MD spells out his vision THE VISION of myExpressCo, licensee of Federal Express Corporation, is simple. “To provide a reliable, hassle-free, time-definite service for the movement of international express packages,” says Charl Pretorius, recently appointed MD of myExpressCo, a subsidiary of the Bidvest Group. An accountant by profession, Pretorius started his business career at Barlows and has gained considerable experience in the freight industry both at Barlows and at Bidvest. “Fedex has always believed so strongly in its product that it has offered a money-back guarantee if it doesn’t deliver on its promises,” says Pretorius. “The brief at myExpressCo will be to further develop and enhance our product and service offering, aligning it with Fedex standards worldwide. Like Fedex, we don’t compete on price but rather on service,” he says. “The Fedex system is based on measurement. We measure the progress of the parcel from the moment it leaves until the moment it is delivered and are constantly looking for ways to improve on those service levels. That’s what customers can expect from myExpressCo.” The plan over the next two quarters will be to intensify the training of staff, service providers and clients, says Pretorius. “We have been working with a high-level team of Fedex Express Corporation executives and we are confident that not only can we build on the successes of the past but that we can take myExpressCo into a new and exciting era.”
